Energy systems for Vitovalor 300-P

For those who want to maximise the benefits of operating a Vitovalor 300-P, a combination with solar PV and a battery storage systems could improve their own usage of generated power by close to 100%.

For owners of a Vitovalor 300-P, this means that they can increase its already efficient power generation yet further.

Vitovalor 300-P combined with photovoltaics

Photovoltaic systems absorb solar energy and convert it into usable electricity. In the sunny summer months in particular, a sufficiently sized photovoltaic system with a power storage unit can cover the entire power demand of a household. However, Vitovalor 300-P is a heat led fuel cell. This means that it only produces power at times when heat is also required. Yet not a lot of heat is required in the summer months, which is why the Vitovalor's level of power generation falls during this time.

In combination with a photovoltaic system, the Viessmann system provides the owners with sufficient power even on hot days. This standalone power supply not only increases independence from local electricity suppliers. It also significantly reduces electricity costs. After all the price for self-generated power is much lower than the purchase price set by electricity suppliers for domestic power. It works out at 15 pence /kWh. Furthermore, on-site power generation is good news for the climate as there are no long transmission lines. The power required is generated on site. If Vitovalor 300-P in combination with a photovoltaic system produces more power than necessary, the surplus power can also be exported to the public grid – or stored in a battery.

Combination with the Vitocharge power storage system

As the feed-in tariffs for self-generated power have been falling for years, many energy experts specifically recommend on-site power utilisation. However, efficient utilisation is only possible if the power is available not only during the day, but also in the evening. After all, the sun is no longer shining at that time, but power consumption generally increases as the evening sets in. The solution to this is a power storage unit such as the Vitocharge.

The Vitocharge is not your typical power storage unit. Rather it is a power storage system that can be configured to suit any requirement thanks to its modular design. The overall unit can accommodate up to four battery modules. Each of these battery modules has a storage capacity of 3.2 kWh and a service life of more than 6000 charge cycles. Installation is extremely simple as the modules are simply slotted into place like drawers. In combination with a solar PV system and Vitovalor 300-P, owners can achieve a high level of power self-sufficiency – right from day one.

Both the photovoltaic system and the power storage system are eligible for subsidies. You can find more information about subsidies at Vitovalor 300-P subsidies.

With apps for remote control and software for remote monitoring

In addition to high operating efficiency, all products from Viessmann are extremely intuitive to use. Optionally, they can also be controlled via smartphones and tablets, making them much more convenient to operate. The Viessmann apps required for this are available from both the Google Play Store and the App Store. In order to increase operational reliability yet further, all heating systems can be controlled with special remote monitoring software. Once a contractor has been assigned, they can access the heating system via the internet and respond immediately in the case of unusual occurrences or faults. This allows system failures to be prevented in advance – saving time and money.
